Download2PC.com is a software download site. It provides free download software for world wide users. You can visit http://download2pc.com to learn more about it.

The website was built with Java, PHP and MySQL. The online function modules were developed with PHP. Software authors could login to Author Center and submit their software details in PAD files (PAD is a standard XML file). There is a Java appliation on the server to download and analysis PAD files, import data to MySQL database. It also generated HTML pages for each software listed on the site. With static HTML pages, the server performance was improved a lot. More importantly, static HTML pages are more search engine firendly and would help the website to get more traffic from search engines such as Google, MSN.

We spent 6 weeks to design and develop the whole website for Download2PC. The website was launched in Dec 2004.
